The 12 Point Pipeline Diagnostic
The free diagnostic is a fixed, twelve point examination of your search and content estate. It runs in 48 hours, it is delivered as a written report, and it ranks every finding by the pipeline it is costing you. You pay nothing and you keep the report whether or not you work with anyone.
The twelve checks
| # | Check | What is examined | What a failure looks like |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | Crawl budget | How much of your crawl budget is spent on pages that cannot rank | Filter, faceted and parameter URLs, session identifiers, internal search results and support archives |
| 02 | Index coverage | Whether every page you would want a buyer to find is actually in the index | noindex left over from a migration, robots rules that are broader than intended, pages that only exist as drafts |
| 03 | Render parity | Whether a crawler sees the same content a buyer sees | Pricing, comparison and FAQ content that only appears after JavaScript runs, and content inside tabbed interfaces |
| 04 | Redirect hygiene | How many hops a crawler takes to reach a money page | Legacy blog URLs pointing at categories, chains of three or more hops, and redirect loops |
| 05 | Canonical correctness | Whether search engines are told which page is the real one | Self canonicals on pages that compete with each other, canonicals pointing at a variant you do not want ranked |
| 06 | Template quality | Whether your pages are distinct enough to be worth indexing | Location, comparison and product pages generated from a single template with fewer than three varying fields |
| 07 | Intent coverage | Whether you cover the questions buyers ask before they buy | Head term coverage without a single page written to answer the buying question directly |
| 08 | Entity clarity | Whether your company, people and products resolve to one identity | Inconsistent company naming, category language that changes between pages, and author identity that is not linked across the site |
| 09 | Answer readiness | Whether your content can be quoted without being misread | Pages that argue rather than answer, and long paragraphs with no standalone, self contained statement |
| 10 | Category ownership | Whether you own the commercial term your buyers search | A competitor ranking for the head term, and no definitive page of your own on it |
| 11 | Attribution plumbing | Whether you can prove which keyword produced the deal | No first touch or last touch discipline, self reported attribution, and no link between the winning keyword and the closed deal |
| 12 | Decay rate | Whether pages that used to rank still rank | Quarter over quarter impression loss with no owner, and a refresh backlog that is nobody's job |
How this differs from the 47 point technical audit
They are different products, not different sizes of the same one. The diagnostic asks whether organic is currently costing you pipeline. The technical audit asks whether your site is technically sound at a level that survives an acquisition, a migration or a platform change.
| Dimension | 12 Point Pipeline Diagnostic | 47 Point Technical SEO Audit |
|---|---|---|
| Turnaround | 48 hours | 5 to 10 business days |
| Scope | Revenue impact, end to end | Technical integrity, exhaustively |
| Method | The twelve leak types, one to one | 47 technical checks across crawl, index, render, structured data, performance, internal linking, international, migration and accessibility |
| Output | Ranked findings, fix, owner, measurement, 90 day sequence | Full technical report with engineering ready tickets and a migration safe architecture plan |
| Who it is for | A founder or CMO who needs to know what to fix first | An engineering leader who needs to know whether the platform is safe to change |
| Price | Free | Custom scoped after the diagnostic |
Frequently asked questions
What do I need to give you?
Your domain, one number you are judged on, and read only access to Search Console if you have it. That is it. You do not need a brief, a call or a contract.
Is it really free?
Yes. It is a fixed scope, twelve check diagnostic delivered in 48 hours. If it is not useful you will know inside ten minutes of reading it, and you keep it either way.
Will you pitch me at the end?
You get one page in the report that says what I would do next and what it costs. There is no separate pitch deck and no follow up sequence.
Is my site too small for this to be worth it?
No. Small sites usually have the highest concentration of leaks, because the same handful of templates is used everywhere. The fix is often one day of work.
What if you find nothing?
Then the report says so, and says what would have to change for the diagnostic to be worth running. You will not get a manufactured problem to sell a retainer against.
Do you work with our existing agency?
Yes, and often. Plenty of engagements are a diagnostic that an existing agency then implements, because they know your brand and your constraints and they should not have to learn them.
